Ebay makeS incredible decision. Tells digital downloader’s to take a hike. Effective March 31st, 2008 Ebay will no longer allow the sale of digital products through regular auction ads other than classified ads. A bad dream for many who have been making a nice living selling digital products on eBay. Yet is this the end of the road or the beginning of a new income stream. You can still advertise digital products on eBay classifieds yet you are not allowed to place buy now buttons, opt in boxes or link to outside sites in the classified sites. Many other entrepreneurs are also feeling the fall out as a huge industry had devolved teaching people how to make money on eBay selling downloadable products. A whole industry destroyed overnight. What is one to do. Get up dust off and find the seed of greatness hiding in this set back. There are certainly going to be work around as eBay experts Jim Cockrum and Billy A are already promoting. Of course there are many people applauding the change feeling e-book sales had been far out of control for a while and were only messing up the system for the product sellers. Yes or No I have no idea, but if you product was that good you can burn it to a cd and just sell the cd now. Come to think of it I have a box full of dvd’s of a cooking show I shot 10 years ago. I guess I will break them out and try selling them on eBay. So maybe there is a silver lining here. Anyway complaining and crying will not get eBay to change their mind back. I have heard it said many, many times once you make your first million the second is easy. So if you have created one successful Internet business the second on should come easy. Best of luck.
